Deborah L. Dance:
Deborah L. Dance’s practice includes various facets of local government law. Prior to joining Jarrard and Davis in an of counsel role, Ms. Dance held the position of County Attorney of Cobb County, Georgia, for 6 years, serving all departments and elected officials of the county. Ms. Dance has extensive experience in complex transactions, employment law, 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1983 litigation, personal injury litigation, zoning litigation, workers’ compensation, and other practice areas based upon 24 years of public service with Cobb County. She has been a presenter on numerous local government topics including, employment law in the public sector, administrative and criminal workplace investigations, Open Meetings/Open Records, and special public safety topics. Prior to employment with Cobb County, Ms. Dance served as a law clerk, in private employment and tort law practice, and as a Magistrate Judge. Ms. Dance is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and also received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in all Georgia state and superior courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court, federal district courts for the Northern District of Georgia and Middle District of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
